British martial artist who went to America to become a movie star. It worked out well.
Having started in the martial arts in his home country of the UK, Gary Daniels already made it to the covers of British budozines before he took a one-way flight to America. His first steps among US martial arts led him to St. Petersburg, Florida, where he worked out with the legendary founder of American kickboxing, Joe Lewis. During that time back in the early 1990ies Daniels was able to join Lewis while John Graden, Jim Graden and Marek Piotrowski of Poland worked out with him.
From there he went straight to Hollywood to become one of the greatest action movie martial arts sensations amassing dozens of leads and features in the world of B-movies.
