Franz Haller

Franz Haller (born 30 May 1959) is a legendary kickboxer from Bolzano, Italy. Haller won his first world championship title in 1979 in Tampa at the second WAKO World Championships in Tampa. He defeated Branko Cikatic in the semifinal and American Harold Roth (aka Harold Diamond) in the final fight making him the first Italian fighter to win a fullcontact world championship title in the history of kickboxing. While the organisation changed its name to WACO he defended his title against American Ray McCallum. During his impressive career Haller captured many more world titles by winning decisive matches over well known fighters. He won the IKL title by knocking out Nasser Nassiri in 1987 and outpointing German Frank Scheuermann in 1994 for the WKA world championship in their rematch (Scheuermann won the first bout).
Later in his career the Italian fought professional Muay Thai, K-1 and K-3 with bout against Orlando Wiet, Bayram Colak and Andre Manaart.
